Between the second half of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century, a series of families came to Buccino for various reasons, who entered more or less permanently in the group of Buccino families, from which many of the families tended to disappear in the same period “historical” of the country. Some of the families that arrived in that period only went through the history of Buccino for a few generations, others are still very present in the community.

The extensive historical-genealogical research that I have been conducting for some time on these families of more recent residence in Buccino, so far it has allowed me to draw up some family trees (which will be published in the page dedicated to them on this site) and to investigate the events of some families, often thanks to the availability of the heirs and the photos of the Buccino archive in history. I have already briefly published some notes on families Mastursi, on Sacco emigrated to Brazil and its Weather in Pucciariello-Morriello emigrated to Argentina. I will shortly publish other insights on the Guadagni and Caravoglia. In this case, instead, we dedicate our attention to the Lardieri, one of the families recently moved to Buccino, who was among the many who then moved to America in Altoona (Pennsylvania), where in the early twentieth century a large group of Buccinesi gathered, whose heirs, In many cases, they still have direct relationships with their home community and their Buccinese relatives.

The Lardieri family was originally from Limit (Avellino). From the genealogical data we know that he settled in Buccino in 1876, year in which two brothers, Francesco Maria and Nicola, son of Pasquathe and Raffaela Del Buono, both married in Buccino.

Note

  1. The twins were born on 27 July. Vincenzo, the firstborn, died on 5 August while his brother Antonio died four days later. At the time of their birth the father had been in the arms for seven months and therefore, almost certainly, he never saw them.
  2. Another son, Giuseppe died at an early age (Buccino 9.4.1889-15.9.1891).
